Join NowSpringman and the SS / Pérák a SS (Jiří Trnka & Jiří Brdečka, 1946)
The story of the folk hero Springman, who persistently dupes, antagonises and evades various Gestapo and SS guards with a simple contraption: couch springs.
Produced in the aftermath of Nazi occupation as a WW2 propaganda piece, the short offers a slap to the face of Czechoslovakia's former oppressors, celebrating and memorialising the country’s spirit of resistance.
