Join NowBlue Apron / Modrá zástěrka (Hermína Týrlová, 1965)
Blue Apron follows a familiar pattern of storytelling seen in Týrlová's other works, often involving the runaway adventures of a familiar household object. The blue apron is tethered to a clothing line until it is freed by a travelling paper plane, proceeding to roam a surreal and abstract world full of hidden joys and dangers.
While directed for children, Blue Apron retains an appeal to older audiences thanks to its hallucinatory, haunting style, and beautifully composed soundtrack imbued with melancholy.
