Volunteering

Volunteers are crucial to events like Samizdat, to help make sure the festival runs smoothly and everyone has a positive experience. Our volunteers will be responsible for welcoming guests, selling merch, and checking tickets; assisting with photography and social media; collecting event feedback; and generally being on hand for event set up and takedown.

As a volunteer, you’ll get access to our screenings, meet everyone on the team and learn more about how the festival runs, and get some lovely merch! We will also be able to reimburse local travel to and from Glasgow Film Theatre/The Pyramid at Anderston, and offer £6 towards a meal each day you’re volunteering with us.

We are looking for volunteers for our Glasgow run: from 6th to 11th October. We ask that you please only apply if you’re available for at least three of these days.

Applications are open until the end of day (11:59pm) on Friday, 25th September, and we will let you know if you’ve been successful by Wednesday, 30th September. We’re hoping to hold a volunteer induction on Thursday, 1st October – but if you’re not available then, we’ll make alternative arrangements.
