To mark Samizdat’s 5th birthday, we have prepared our first-ever screening co-curated by the whole programming team. This collection is an exercise in collective retrospection and introspection: each of us chose a film that speaks to who we are, how and why we work, and how we relate to the glorious and unrelenting cinematic landscapes we roam. This is not about vanity, but about showing where we speak from, as a form of resistance to colonial mechanisms of knowledge production and meaning-making.
