A tenderly, delicately documented story of an internally displaced Romani family who had to flee Russian occupation in spring 2022. It's pieced together from the testimonies of the family’s women, given with irrepressible playfulness and resilience in rare moments of relative idleness that punctuate an otherwise excruciating process: building a new life in a temporary place.

Filmmaker Yulia Appen, a member of the cinemovement and NGO FreeFilmers, is not a passive observer here, but an active, helping hand – with household chores, or with navigating a state bureaucracy where the marginalisation and stigmatisation of Roma people remain far from infrequent. The film reads like notes from the margins of a relationship between the filmmaker and her protagonists, built on mutual care and coexistence. The women's lovingly filmed portraits are beautifully punctuated by Maria Pronina’s stop-motion collage animation, where dreams and memories emerge as mosaics of familiar objects of home.
